Computer Systems Analysts III

Duties: Assist Project Manager with carrying out software projects designed to analyze, maintain and administer complex computer systems.  Apply advanced theoretical knowledge of computer science principles and concepts, as well as experience using standard occupational tools, to perform the following duties:  Analyze, maintain and modify existing computer systems to serve new purposes or improve work flow.  Coordinate the testing, maintenance, and monitoring of computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of new computer programs and systems.  Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.  Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.  Review and analyze computer printouts and performance indicators to locate code problems, and correct errors by correcting codes.  Assist management to ensure agreement on system principles.  Confer with clients and management regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address.  Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs that meet staff and user requirements.  Monitor and coordinate the linking of computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and to enable information to be shared.  Work with Project Managers to determine the computer software or hardware needed to set up or alter system.  The foregoing duties involve supervision of projects only, not personnel.  May perform other job duties considered normal to this occupation.

Requirements: The normal minimum requirements for the offered position are:Master‘s degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) field of study providing the required skills and knowledge, plus 3 years of experience in a relatedposition providing the required skills and abilities.  In lieu of the above-stated primary education and experience requirements, the employer will accept a related bachelor’s degree and 5 years of post-degree, progressive experience in any related position providing the required skills and abilities. Employer will accept a foreign degree.  Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.  The term suitable, in this context, means substantially compatibility with stated job academic level and experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.
